In the authentic setting of San Canzian in Istria, BID GRUPA organized the "Connecting the Dots" conference, bringing together leading hoteliers from Croatia and the region. The event was dedicated to addressing key digital challenges facing modern hospitality, with a particular focus on eliminating booking loss through innovative technological solutions.
The main program was opened by Domagoj Razum (CBO, Lauris) and Vjeran Andrašić (Founder of Ružičasta breskvica and Consultant, bid.), who spoke about tools with a direct impact on the profitability of hotel systems.
Domagoj Razum presented the "booking widget," a solution that offers users an intuitive booking process directly on the hotel's website. The goal of this tool is to keep guests on the site without unnecessary redirects, which are a common source of confusion and cart abandonment in the final stage of booking.
Vjeran Andrašić addressed the pressing issue of data fragmentation. Today's hotel industry is overwhelmed with information, causing technical issues and anomalies in user behavior to go unnoticed for days, resulting in significant financial losses. BID Grupa has therefore developed a system that tracks signals from the site's technical backend, user behavior, and the booking flow, uniting them into a single, smart analytics system.
The central part of the program was a panel featuring Domagoj Vidović (Valamar), Krunoslav Herceg (Bluesun), Krešimir Drvar (Eagle Hills), and Igor Dudić (BID Grupa). The discussion touched on key questions - how well hoteliers truly understand their guests' behavior, and at which exact points they tend to lose them. The panelists shared experiences from their hotel groups and presented concrete ways in which they overcame these challenges.
Led by Antonija Mandić, the entire program took on a dynamic and interactive tone, encouraging attendees to engage in open dialogue about the future of the industry. Participants particularly praised the conference format. Rather than a large-scale gathering, the focus was on an intimate, relaxed atmosphere that enabled genuine exchange of experiences and meaningful networking.
